Carry the sunset with you

This arty necklace is hand sawed textured copper sheet metal. The stone I purchased a few years back while vacationing a cave site. I just loved the colors on the geo slice. I was inspired to make prongs for this piece to show more of the stone. My solution made both sides look different, yet wearable on either side of the carnelian slice. Good Monday Morning Everyone!! As many know, I love purple, and of course I couldn't pass up a purple geo slice! I loved the shapes in this stone and tried to saw the brass metal sheet to mimic the organic shape. I painted the hand textured brass metal to show up the hammering marks which compliments the purple stone. I also used rivets for the bail which is subtle since the prongs in this piece are cut metal tabs. I really wanted a festive mixture of color for the textile. This piece is definitely edgy! Enjoy!
